Some lines don't just sound beautiful they change the way you look at life. This couplet is one of them.
For a long time, I believed that my presence mattered more than it probably did. I thought things would somehow stop without me. But life has a gentle way of reminding us that the world has always been moving, long before we arrived, and it will keep moving long after we're gone.
At first, that thought feels unsettling. Then, strangely, it becomes comforting.
If nothing lasts forever, maybe the goal isn't to be unforgettable. Maybe it's to be kind while we're here, to love deeply, to leave people a little happier than we found them, and to make our brief time meaningful.
In the end, none of us can stop time. But we can choose the kind of memories we leave behind.
Perhaps that's what this couplet is really saying: the world doesn't need us to last forever it only asks us to live well while we have the chance.
